Jewellery Making Level 1

If you're relatively new to jewellery design, but keen to get settled and learning quickly, our Level 1 part time workshop will get you on the right track.

  • One 4-hour class per day for 6 days (9am until 1pm daily)

  • 5 set projects (materials for all projects are included in the course fees)

  • 1 unique piece designed and made by you (materials for this project aren't included in the course fees)

  • Studio available after the end of class every day until 7pm for additional practice

What do I need to bring?

Just yourselves and a little creativity! Sources of inspiration such as works of your favourite artist or photographs are always helpful so feel free to bring those along.

Do I need to purchase any materials?

All materials for set projects and samples will be provided. We do have additional materials for sale if you wish to make extras, or you can order from our favorite supplier Rio Grande.

What do we do for lunch?

We finish class at 1pm but if you’re planning to come back for practice in the afternoon, you’ll seriously need to eat first! For lunch and there are plenty of places close by to enjoy. Alternatively we have a kitchen with cooking facilities that you are free to use.

Daily Projects

  1. Bronze pendant

  2. Delicate pierced sterling silver bracelet

  3. Bronze stacking rings

  4. Domed ring in sterling silver and bronze

  5. Pierced design earrings in bronze and sterling silver

  6. Final project

Please note we are not able provide make up classes, however we do provide you with kits and full instructions for every project!  The final project is a unique piece of jewellery designed and made by you, using the skills you have learnt throughout the course - we will of course be there to support you in turning your designs into reality.

Coming from out of town?

We have a few options in terms of accommodation.  Many students stay in Nadi Bangsar or The Establishment where you can get a whole new studio apartment to yourself, both are available on Airbnb and are a 5 minute grab ride from the studio (which costs about 5 Ringgit).  The other option is a serviced apartment called The Nomad which is bookable through Expedia etc, this is about 7 minutes walk to the studio.  All these options cost approximately USD 30 per night.  A firm favourite seems to be Nadi however because there’s a great selection of restaurants within 2 minutes walk as well as a decent coffee shop - most important!

In terms of food, eating out if you like Malaysian / Indian food is super cheap - one meal will probably cost less than USD 3. Food at the supermarket costs pretty much the same as US / UK / Australia,

It’s a pretty easy city to hang out in, most people speak English and transport via grab is super cheap.  And there’s plenty of sights to see at the weekend too.
